Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch limited Edition – 40th Anniversary of the Apollo 15

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 15, Swiss made replica watch Omega has unveiled a limited edition Speedmaster Moonwatch.

As the rest of the series, the limited edition watch comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case.

Equipped with a fixed bezel with an inevitable tachymeter scale, the watch can be considered medium-sized by today’s standards.

Only 1,971 pieces will be available and will feature a polished and brushed stainless steel case and bracelet, a black aluminum ring with a tachymeter scale on the bezel and a domed shatterproof hesalite crystal with the replica watch swiss Omega symbol etched. Its subdials are neatly arranged in a black background. Also, the watch features blue, white and red colors for the minute track and one each for the 3 subdials – these represent the colors of the Apollo 15 patch. The watch commemorates Apollo 15, the fourth of NASA’s six missions to land on the moon.

The new timekeeper comes equipped with the Caliber 1861 hand-wound movement, which is based on a Lemania 1873 design.

The movement comes in two different finishes depending on a model.

If the watch in question is equipped with a display back, the Caliber 1861 is delivered with its chronograph bridge and other parts featuring flawlessly executed Geneva stripes pattern.
